Once
Upon A Time I Loved Him...
The
creation of this website has been an emotionally taxing experience for me. Recalling the good times I believed
I had with Ehigie, the first time we made love, the pride I felt when I first introduced him to my parents and
the rest of my family, the first time we went to the Kingdom Hall and the shock of finally realizing that he
was never coming back to me still fills me with tears.
I married
Senator Uzamere because I was in love with him. He was tall. He was dark. He had big shoulders
and a small waist. He was from Africa. He had pretty slanted eyes and a wonderful accent. He was in college
and like my dad he was a working man. He had some bumps on his face that I didn't like, but he was reasonably good-looking.
He used to overly blow dry the top of his hair, but he had nice hair in the back of his head that was not cotton-kinky like
mine. I found that odd for a person from Africa. And he was a good lover, well-endowed and very sexy.
I did not care that he did not give me any money. I did not
care that he did not buy me an engagement ring or a wedding ring. I didn't care because I was in love with him and
I was sexually driven.
I remember when Ehigie and Nosayaba came to my
parents' apartment. Ehigie's brother Nosayaba (John) gave me the recipes for making fufu, egusi and stew.
Ehigie taught how to say "I love you" in Bini. There was one occasion when Ehigie called my house
and sang Lionel Ritchie's song "Still." He wasn't really a good singer, but I was so proud of
him and proud of being his woman that I didn't care. I was sprung.
As I write this, I feel so ashamed of myself. I feel like a stupid fool.
Some months after I first uploaded the first version of this website and disseminated information regarding
Senator Uzamere's crimes to the PointBlankNews, the Sun Online News, the Huhu Online News and YouTube (formerly http://www.youtube.com/cuzamere), all the websites that I created using Lycos' web building service were suspended. The information I disseminated
at my former site and the YouTubewebsite included a video of my husband, Senator Ehigie Edobor Uzamere celebrating 25 years of a bigamous marriage
with Iriagbonse Irowa.
Surprisingly, the video of
Senator Uzamere's "anniversary" with Iriagbonse that was originally placed there by Edo Radio's
staff to honor Senator Uzamere was removed and never replaced.
Later, I found out from Emmanuel Asiwe, the publisher of Huhu Online that he had a discussion with John Idehen, president
of Edo Radio/Radio Naija. According to Mr. Asiwe, Mr. Idehen filed a complaint behind my back with Lycos, Inc. and YouTube, Inc. that
I had engaged in copyright infringement by uploading the video that clearly shows my husband, Senator Ehigie Edobor Uzamere
celebrating 25 years of a bigamous marriage with Iriagbonse Irowa.
According to the U.S. Copyright agency, the "fair use" clause of federal copyright law allows limited, unchallenged use of copyrighted material for such purposes as
news reporting, teaching, criticism, educational and other not-for-profit purposes. Reporting Senator
Uzamere's crimes of bigamy, identity fraud, green card fraud, social security card fraud, marriage fraud and
document fraud seems to fit both the "educational" and "news reporting" aspects of Title 17 U.S.C. §107.
I responded to my discovery of Senator Uzamere's and John
Idehen's bullying by faxing a counter-notificationto YouTube, Inc., pursuant to its terms of service on May 7, 2008 at 6:38 p.m.
According
to YouTube's counter-notification procedure, "...the claimant must then notify us within 10 days that he or she
has filed an action seeking a court order to restrain you from engaging in infringing activity relating to the material on
YouTube. If we receive such notification we will be unable to restore the material. If we do not receive such notification,
we may reinstate the material."
YouTube gives 10 days.
It has been more than 10 days since I filed the counter-notification and I have not heard one word from John Idehen
regarding his spurious claim that I engaged in copyright infringement.
Since the information contained in this website is very damning
to Senator Uzamere's political and personal reputation and may be distressful to fellow Nigerians, out of respect
for the feelings of the Nigerian community I invite concerned Nigerians to ask any question to ensure
that I am telling the truth. Under very limited conditions, I am also willing to release my own governmental
records that will satisfy your curiosity.
Coming to the defense of Senator
Uzamere is an honorable thing if doing so is based on your belief that I am defaming his character and not some
chauvanistic or patriotic desire to save face. If your attempt to defend Senator Uzamere's honor
is not bound with a sincere search for the truth, then it is nothing more than an attack on me -- something
that I will no longer tolerate.
I understand and sympathize with your
desire to ensure that your fellow countryman is not "taken to the cleaners" by the machination of what may
appear to you to be a money-hungry black American woman. But this is not the case here. But I did not created
this situation. I am a victim of it.
Even though I am the victim, I
still feel ashamed that I allowed myself to fall in love with this person who never earned or deserved my love and
never earned the love of the wonderful child we created out of my stupid love for him. I gave him
all my love but all he did was did his business and left -- like I was a toilet. He did not even turn around
to see if he had left a mess. He left his mess for me to clean up.
Should I forever be punished by Senator Uzamere because I was a poor, stupid black American who was legally
defenseless and horny???
If your intention in contacting me is
to discredit the truth of my statements, I will not just defend myself. I will hurt you.
If
Senator Uzamere did not want to face the future consequences of using me as a toilet by "doing his business"
on me, he should not have left his illegal mess for me to clean up. He should have, at the very least, turned around
to check the "toilet seat" and cleaned up the two " fecal stains" he left behind -- his impoverished
wife and daughter.
Instead, he left the difficult task of cleaning his
mess for me. Like the good wife and mother that I am, I used the best "cleaning solution" on the market.
It is thorough because it is very strong. It is a product called The Law...and its consequences are
unavoidable.
